Calgary Tower Has a Glass Floor
August 25th 2009 21:13
The Calgary Tower is a little bit overshadowed by skyscrapers these days, but the revolving restaurant up there still offers a panoramic view of the city and the Rocky Mountains to the west.
You have to pay to go up the Tower, but you don't have to go for a meal. There's an observation deck just below the restaurant, with the glass floor shown in this picture.
I've been up there and I have to say, the very thought of it makes my feet tingle and my knees shake a bit because I have a little bit of a fear of - not heights, but falling. Not so much that it keeps me on the ground though!
If you only have a day in downtown Calgary, the Tower is a fun thing to visit, especially on a clear day. The view of the mountains is spectacular.
