Running in Calgary's RIver Park
October 7th 2008 00:04
For a prairie city, Calgary has a lot of natural spaces. This park is called River Park, with the Elbow RIver running through it.
On any given day there are runners, walkers, strollers on many of the pathways in Calgary. We have an extensive network and it's always possible to find a quiet - or a visible, less quiet - place.
What photographer Dawn - Pink Chick has shared in her series of photos on Flickr.com from October 4, 2008, is a cross-country race, probably in aid of a charity. (We have lots of those).
The yellow leaves are our typical fall colour. We don't get much of the red and orange of the eastern hardwood forests, but if you see the sunlight on the yellow, it's enough.
Information about Calgary's parks and pathways is easy to get from the City of Calgary's website. The YMCA downtown (Eau Claire YMCA) has a big map of running paths leading away from its building.
