Scenery for Passchendaele Movie
October 21st 2008 03:31
Passchendaele, the movie, takes place on the First World War battlefield, and in Southern Alberta.
Some of the most beautiful scenes in the film were shot in the foothills, with the Rocky Mountains seen off to the west against the blue Alberta sky.
Calgary of 1917 is played in part by Fort Macleod, a town about 2 hours south.
The big house where the character Cassie lives looks like the Prince House at Heritage Park in Calgary. That's my bet! When Heritage Park is open (late May to mid-October), visitors can look around inside the houses and businesses there.
